Yesterday, I grew because of you; tomorrow, you will achieve because of me!

In 1900, the Otis Elevator Company of the United States secured its first elevator contract in China through its agent, Tullock & Co.—supplying two elevators to Shanghai. This marked the beginning of a new chapter in the global history of elevators.
In the winter of 1951, after more than four months of work, the first elevator designed and manufactured by Chinese engineers was installed in the Tiananmen Gate tower in Beijing. This task was entrusted to the Tianjin (privately owned) Cong Qingsheng Electric Factory. Since then, the public's continuous pursuit of elevator safety, efficiency, and comfort has driven the advancement of elevator technology in China.
Today, in 2009, we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the rapid and glorious development of the elevator industry. As Tongguan, a wire rope factory specializing in providing key safety components for elevators, we can proudly say that we have been part of this 30-year success story.
Looking back at the past 30 years of development: The first decade of reform and opening up was the embryonic stage of China's elevator industry and the initial stage of the formation of the elevator industry chain; the second decade after reform and opening up can be considered a decade of steady development and continuous innovation for the Chinese elevator industry; in the third decade, the Chinese elevator industry has developed rapidly. China is now not only the world's largest elevator production base and consumer market, but also one of the countries with the most elevators. Many believe that China's elevator industry and automobile industry are somewhat similar, with foreign brands making significant investments in the Chinese market and dominating it. The difference is that Chinese-made elevators have gained significant importance in the international market, with over 7,000 units exported last year and only over 2,000 imported.
When reviewing the development of the elevator industry, the magazine "China Elevator" cannot be overlooked. This magazine's fate is intertwined with that of the elevator industry, developing alongside it. It serves as a showcase for China's elevator industry, a platform for promoting companies and products, a medium for introducing various technological information, and a textbook for learning various regulations and standards. As the official publication of the China Elevator Association, it has been published for 30 years, with 300 issues published.
Cultivating an open, fair, competitive, and regulated elevator market, continuously introducing and developing advanced international technologies, improving the management level, manufacturing methods, and service quality of elevator companies, providing users with high-quality, low-cost, and considerate elevator products, and maintaining and strengthening a cohesive industry association that enthusiastically serves elevator companies and government departments—this is both our experience from the past 30 years and the direction we should continue to strive for in the future. Looking ahead to the future of the elevator industry, I offer four personal perspectives: 1. Strengthen national brand awareness; 2. Balance personal interests with social interests, and short-term interests with long-term interests; 3. High quality and low price; 4. Comprehensive support from the government and the industry.
I firmly believe: There are only failing companies, not failing industries. We at Tongguan adhere to the principle that excellent quality stems from employee dedication, and service is the key to future success. Chinese elevator industry, yesterday, I grew because of you; tomorrow, you will succeed because of me!
Because we believe, therefore we strive.
